Classroom construction update: hauling sand

June 20, 2009

Well, the work is starting!

This young man and his donkey just brought a load of sand to the construction site. The new classroom will be in the space you see to the left. Next step: we will mix cement and create bricks.

This is for you! Our son arrived in Niger on July 9 as a new PCV. Your wonderful blog has given me only hope for his experience and his contributions to the community! Many thanks! Sherwood24

This is fascinating. Glad you dropped by my blog. Read several days back, what a story, what an experience. This is your daughter?

Hi Patricia! Welcome! Your comment will make Jessica's day, I'm sure. Overall she has had an amazing experience in Niger, and your son will, too. Be sure he has extra memory cards for his camera so he can send home photos!

Hello Si's blog! Thanks for stopping by. Yep, J is my daughter and she is having quite the time. The blog has been a way for me to stay connected; her lack of computer access and extreme isolation means that she would otherwise be out of touch with family and friends. Hence the mom-managed blog of her letters and photos home.
