Because of that it should be kind of fun to read.

Jessica began her Peace Corps experience in January of 2008. She is in the west African country of Niger, which is a pretty isolated part of the world. She has little access to computers, and the mail is slow. I (the MOM) blog her letters and occasional emails, and try to keep my voice out of it.

The plastic baggie filled with water that I have hung over my door does seem to be WORKING! I think it's keeping flies out!! Oh my god! This could change everything!! Mom, you're a genius; please tell the fish and chips place that Africa will never be the same once this catches on.
How did you come up with this?? I am so glad it is something simple and not some nasty bug spray. I also wanted to let you know that I am moving to Boston! I would love to see you and John before I go, let me know what your schedules are in the next two weeks. Hope you are well xo Mame
We saw this method being used at a fish shop in Newport Oregon; the owner was a no-nonsense kind of guy, so we believed him. It does not work for mosquitos, wasps, bees, or other pests, though.
